In six 30-minutes modules you will learn all the important basics for an artist to survive at the art market: how to deal with galleries in a gallery contract, how to draw a business plan, how to find an art pricing stratgy and sales practices, which social media really help you to develop a brand and further practical as well as theoretical knowledge for painters, photographers, sculptors and other creative workers.

The Art Market in the Time of the Pandemic

The course offers a summary of the important developments and changes which the art market has seen since the outbreak of the pandemic. You will learn more about positive and negative consequences for your job if you are an artist, a collector, a curator, a journalist or an art dealer.

The Artist and the Art Market – Module 3

Modul 3 explains specific business plans and strategies so that you can understand better your work as the work of an entrepreneur. By means of historical examples you can learn more about special branding and marketing strategies for you as a painter, photographer or sculptor.

The Artist and the Art Market – Module 5

Modul 5 treats several aspects: from important knowledge about basic sales practices and basics about art pricing up to customer service strategies and knowledge about how to maintain a professional inventory.

You have 12 months to finish all course modules in a self-directed study.

Within these 12 months you study when and where you like. The courses are available on desktop or mobile platform.

At the end of a multiple-module course you can test your knowledge in a multiple-choice test. If you pass the test you can receive a certificate from Dr. Harriet Häussler.
